Chocolate fanciers visiting Santa Fe can savor a lodging package tailored to their passion at the Inn on the Alameda, a small, well-regarded hotel in New Mexico’s colorful capital.
The “Check Into Chocolate” package gives you $40 worth of gift certificates to local chocolate shops, a $30 gift certificate for afternoon tea or other treats at the Chocolate Maven bakery cafe and four bolitas – chocolate fudge dipped in dark chocolate and rolled in crushed almonds (a specialty of Señor Murphy, a Santa Fe-based candy maker).
The inn gets good user reviews and, unlike some other hotels, it doesn’t slap on resort fees or charge for parking. Its room rates include continental breakfast, an afternoon wine reception and free Wi-Fi.
But bargain-hunters may want to nibble on this package, not swallow it whole, because depending on the stay dates, they may save money – or not. In any event, the package can provide a convenient entree into Santa Fe’s chocolate menu.
