Employees for Lindt USA set a Guinness World Record recently when 590 of them simultaneously opened an ate Lindor Truffles whilst lined up in a formation that spelled out R.S.V.P..

In a rather brilliant publicity stunt, designed to kick off the 2012 Lindt Chocolate R.S.V.P. National Conference for Lindt Chocolate R.S.V.P. consultants, an adjudicator from the Guinness World Records confirmed a new record for the most amount of people simultaneously opening and eating a chocolate had been achieved by the company in Stratham.

Having launched the R.S.V.P. program last year it continues to provide chocolate aficionados with the opportunity to become independent consultants for the company by and hosting chocolate tasting parties.

‘We thought it was a great way to make our chocolate party even bigger’ said Lindt Chief Executive Officer and President Thomas Linemayr.

‘When you sell chocolate, you sell happiness, and what better way to be happy than to throw a chocolate party?’

According to Freddie Hoff, the Guinness World Records Adjudicator, the record of the ‘most people unwrapping candy simultaneously’ is a brand new category Lindt specifically applied for.

Those who took part in it clearly enjoyed the experience.

‘It was fun’ said Lindt employee Lisa Hanlin, who no doubt echoed the feelings of all involved.
