The Chocolate Kitchen churns out two more soon to be favourites

Gary Mitchell is at it again; the Head Chocolatier at Purdy’s Chocolates has added two more decadent delights to his list of scrumptious creations: The Chili Pepper Chocolate and Eggnog Truffle.

“These pieces are part of our From the Chocolate Kitchen program – a dream come true program for any foodie. I get to create and taste and develop mouth watering recipes that our customers will love. In a year, I could create up to 150 different chocolates, but only the best and most interesting make it to our stores. And I’m proud to say that The Chili Pepper Chocolate and Eggnog Truffle, are two of the best that we’ve created this year,” says Mitchell.

The Chili Pepper is intense and dark – a warm sensation is intensified as the spice of the jalapeno and cinnamon combine with the cocoa nib and 70% dark chocolate. Set for release just in time for the holiday season, The Chili Pepper is available in all stores and online starting November 1st.

The holiday season isn’t complete without the taste of eggnog, and this year we’re proud to introduce the Eggnog Truffle. “The Eggnog Truffle is a cloudlike texture with a white chocolate centre. The eggnog is elevated with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg and a splash of Jamaican Rum. The couverture – the outer shell of the chocolate – is our signature creamy milk chocolate. It’s a must-try this season,” says Gary Mitchell. The Eggnog Truffle will be available in stores and online November 1st.

“The Eggnog Truffle will only be available for a limited time. We want to continue creating and surprising our customers with fresh and unique flavours” says Kriston Dean, Director of Chocolate Merchandising & Marketing.

The From the Chocolate Kitchen Program will introduce new and returning favourites in stores and online throughout the year and continue on into 2012. “We get tremendous feedback from our sales associates and customers who come in and tell us their favourite. We pass that on to Gary and our other chocolatiers and they begin creating. An inspiration can come from anywhere – the kitchen team, our staff, our chocolate lovers. So if there is a flavour you love, or you’d like to try, just pass it on to our retail team. You never know what Gary and the team will come up with next!” says Dean.
